There's Been A Lot Of Love For Aer Lingus Following Their Response To Berkeley Tragedy

Facebook post which praised Aer Lingus for their treatment of the families of students who were tragically killed in Berkeley on Tuesday morning has received a very positive response.

A number of Irish people have since added comments on the post to share their touching stories of how the airline have helped them over the years.

Jonathan Wallace said that he couldn't "speak highly enough" and said that their "gestures are beyond anything I've seen or heard in Customer Care, and I emphasise 'CARE'.

Since he shared the post on the airline's wall 19 hours ago it has gone viral and has since liked over 62,000 times and shared over 4,600 times.

Aer Lingus commented under his post thanking him for his "kind words" and said that they are still thinking of the families at this sad time.

There have been over 1,000 comments on the thread with the vast majority echoing Wallace's praise and sharing some of their own touching stories of how Aer Lingus has helped them when they needed it.

One woman described how Aer Lingus had helped her sister fly home from America as their mother had just days to live.

Proud of Aer Lingus and their sensitive and compassionate response to this appalling tragedy. We will always have the utmost gratitude and respect for Aer Lingus. Thank you Aer Lingus then and thank you Aer Lingus now.

One man also shared how the airline helped him on his return to America after his father passed away.

 They called me to the front and put me in first class and told me how sorry they were I was traveling that day. I was very moved. It made me feel I wasn't on my own traveling back a cross the Atlantic. Thank u again, and may God be with those broken hearted families in this there darkest hour.

Another woman said how just seeing the Aer Lingus uniform makes you feel like you are in safe hands.

No other Airline compares to Aer Lingus when you see that green uniform you know you are in safe hands,we would all love to wrap our arms around these families, and let them know how much we care, for now we will take heart that Aer Lingus is doing just that . Gone too soon it touches all of us. Thank you Aer Lingus.

It's certainly heartwarming to see an airline show such compassion and kindness following such a difficult time.
