Angry Son's Letter From The Gaeltacht 14 Years Ago Has Been Shared 2,000 Times

Ger Roche threw her son 'away to a bog' 14 years ago, like so many Irish mothers did, in the hope that a Gaeltacht region might knock a bit of Irish into him.

Alas he was not a happy camper, cooped up in such a place with no tv, no music and just a girl who looked like Satan keep him company. The 13-year-old son decided to pen this letter to his mother just to let her know how truly awful her decision to send him to Irish college had been.

Love this postcard that Ger Roche received from her youngest son who was spending a summer in the Gaeltacht in Connemara when he was about 13 (he is now 29). Ger has always kept it because it was so funny!

We agree with her son. Given the frankly dreadful spelling mistakes that litter the letter we think she'd have been better sending him to some sort of English college.
