There's Plans For A Castle To Be Built In St. Stephen's Green And People Aren't Happy

There has been talk in the last few days of a proposal to build a castle in St. Stephen's Green and naturally enough, as with anything that is in any way controversial in Ireland, a protest ensued, well a pretend one.

But, before you make your placards and head down to the park yourself it's all a joke, an excellently elaborate marketing ploy by King Crisps.

The King Crisps Twitter account was very active recently with them teasing some big plans for St. Stephen's Green last week, revealing all on Friday. The big plans were to develop a castle for the King himself in St. Stephen's green and it didn't go down well with everyone. Here's the public's reaction:

Have you seen these plans for Stephen’s Green? Here’s what the public thinks of them…#TheKingsNewGaff

While it may all be a marketing ploy, it's extremely clever and has certainly had the desired effect, getting the conversation going and brining King Crisps into everyone's thoughts.

The real winner in all of this is the King Crisps Twitter page who have been having the absolute craic with various restaurants, nightclubs and band members.

At least Mr. King is thinking ahead

That bloody LUAS causing problems for his Highness

How kind of him to offer his castle for Prince Jay and his Princess to have their wedding reception

After initially protesting, Keywest appeared to have a change of heart

Humble abode? *cough, monstrosity!

Fair play to Sherry FitzGerald, who were up for the craic as well

This has kept us thoroughly entertained. Keep up the great work King. Now we're off too buy some crisps, we suddenly have a craving for them for some reason.
