The Late Late Show Forced To Defend Itself Against Accusations Of Bias

Late Late viewers have accused the show of being biased when it comes to selecting competition winners. They claim that winners always come from the same locations. It was alleged that when it came to hand out the best prizes the winners invariably came from Munster.

An RTE spokesperson has denied the claim, saying competition winners are selected completely at random using a software programme.

Each entry is assigned a record number and winners are selected entirely at random using a unique integer generator. At the point of generating the winning record number, RTE is not privy to location details.

The complaints came to light through the Freedom of Information Act. Other issues were touched on, such as presenter Ryan Tubridy being described as wooden. As everyone who watches the show will realise, they are hardly the most hostile of complaints that could have been levelled at them. Although, with one complainer accusing the broadcaster of pushing the wind farm 'agenda' on young minds, it demonstrates the calibre of person who takes the time to write into RTE over such things.
