Warning: Contains Grey's Anatomy spoilers.

Are the weirdos who aren't up to date yet gone? Good. Praise the Lord, for 'McDreamy' is heading to the big screen!

Patrick Dempsey is in final negotiations to join the cast of Bridget Jones’s Baby.

The 49-year-old Grey's Anatomy star looks set to star alongside Renée Zellweger as she reprises her role as the mishap-prone British publishing executive as she enters her 40s, according to Deadline.

With Colin Firth returning in the role of Bridget's love interest Mark Darcy, and Hugh Grant's Daniel Cleaver absent from the plot, it seems likely that Dempsey - whose Grey's character Dr. Derek Shepherd died in tragic circumstances after 10 years on the ABC series (no, we're still not okay, goddammit) - will play a game of 'Who's the daddy?' in another love triangle.

The third film in the Bridget series will not focus on the plot of Helen Fielding's third novel 'Mad About The Boy,' instead following more closely the author's Independent columns which returned in 2005. There's a hell of a lot to catch up with.

Fielding's work was adapted to screenplay by legendary British actress Emma Thompson last year after doubts over the equality of the original script by Hugh Grant and others.

Last month, we brought you the news of another very special guest who is set to appear in the new film. We're very excited about this.
