We Love This 1940 Local Paper Ad Revealing The Health Benefits Of Buckfast

A huge thank you to Steve Donohue for sending this ad to us, from a 1940 edition of the Connacht Tribune.

While many a joke is made among college students nowadays about Buckfast and the face that it's a tonic, - 'Sure I'm not really drinking, it's mediciine - back in 1940 they really were big on its health benefits.

Rumours that it was the second best cure for ailments, after flat 7Up, are not confirmed but many still argue that it's true.
