Our Bullshitless Eurovision Betting Advice Will Make You Filthy Rich

Eurovision 2015 begins tonight and if you're serious about making money from it then you need to be getting your bets in now before the prices drop. This is the betting event of the year, after Cheltenham, so while this may sound like a tongue-in-cheek post we're not messing about.

The Eurovision is a very serious matter after all. So without further ado, here are out top recommendations.

The Big Contenders

Sweden 7-4

Verdict

Didn't realise Avicii was in this year's Eurovision. The more I listen to it the more I think 'How can this not win?' No value in it though.

Too short a price to bet on.

Russia 6-1

Verdict

Excuse me while I go get sick in a bucket. This wannabe Michael Jackson 'We Are The World' could well win the bloody thing and it's odds will be slashed after tonight's semi-final so get it while it's hot.

Best placed to win it but not a great price.

Azerbaijan 20-1

Verdict

Paul Cashin is one half of Carlow's top Eurovision duo and he's going with this as his winning ticket and you can see where he's coming from. It's boring as fuck but your man has a fierce set of lungs on him.

Another advantage he has, as Ireland's top Eurovision analyst, Dr Adrian Kavanagh, points out in his build-up blog is that juries love these kind of song.

The best value bet to win.

The outside bets

Belgium 50-1 (Top ten 2-1)

Verdict

Kavanagh, puts it best in his blog:

If this is staged right, this could be exceptional, although if it is staged wrong then.

50-1 makes it a good each way bet but I also like the 14-1 to win tonight's semi-final.

Top ten  finish and cheeky each way bet.

Austria 100-1

Verdict

This lad sounds like an Ed Sheeran-Jason Mraz-Jack Johnson love child and his blandness could prove quite popular. At 80-1 it is both Michael Hennessy (the other half of the Carlow duo) and Cashin's big each way shout and who are we to argue.

Definitely an each way bet.
