Donal Skehan Had A Well Known Guest At His Wedding

Donal Skehan Had A Well Known Guest At His Wedding

Well known Irish chef Donal Skehan married his long term partner Sofie Larrson during an intimate Irish ceremony on Saturday.

The happy couple wed over the weekend in a small private ceremony attended by over 30 of Sofie's relatives who travelled over from her native Sweden for the wedding with Skehan's parents Dermot and Liz among the larger number of Irish family and friends in attendance.

The newly-weds have been together since 2006, after Donal met Sofie when she was visiting his native Howth.

The only official photo of the bride and groom  is the below one that Skehan posted to his Instagram account, and they look blissfully happy.

The bride's dress is said to have come from Sweden while Donal got his suit from Ted Baker. Don't they scrub up well?

Guests at the wedding included Irish MMA star, Cathal Pendred and singer Michele McGrath who shared a picture with the happy groom on her Instagram page.

For those of you wondering if The Kitchen Hero presenter catered his own wedding reception, held in Carlow's lavish Lisnavagh House, no he did not, his friends from the Eastern Seaboard restaurant did, and it was "the best wedding food ever" according to Skehan.

Nevermind the food, the dress or the suit, surely the winner for most bizarre guest of the day was the couple's dog Max, who was a special guest at the afters, with Skehan mentioning earlier in the week:

Max has a new little collar and is coming to the afters

Honestly, a dog at a wedding is a bit much, but each to their own and all that.
