11 Childhood Cartoons You Haven't Thought About Enough Recently

We're not talking Pokémon or the Rugrats, here, or even Johnny Bravo. Damn, they don't make 'em like this anymore.

Here are 11 childhood cartoons you need to remember pretty much instantly.

1) Animaniacs

Yakko, Wakko and Dot escaped from the water tower within which they were locked since the 1930s to wreak havoc upon Warner Bros studios and nutty psychiatrist Dr. Scratchansniff between 1993 and 1998. Animaniacs was, in a word, genius.

2) Pinky and The Brain

Introduced in Animaniacs by the same creators. "The same thing we do every week, Pinky. Try to take over the world!"

3) Biker Mice From Mars

One for the late '80s, early '90s kids. Mice. From Mars. That rode motorcycles. Say no more.

4) Dexter's Laboratory

Everyone will remember Dee Dee, but who remembers Dexter's arch nemesis Mandark?

5) Powerpuff Girls

Sugar, spice and everything nice... Tune, by the way:

6) Street Sharks

The hardiest bastards ever animated. Basically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but with a dash more badassery.

7) Gargoyles

Dark undertones, complex story arcs and Shakespearean themes meant this one scared the shite out of me as a five-year-old, but I was mainly terrified at the prospect of statues turning into monsters during the night.

8) Hey Arnold

"Move it, Football Head!"

9) Wild Thornberrys

You might not have forgotten about Eliza, Darwin and co, but did you know the voice of Donnie - the jungle idiot brother - was Flea from Red Hot Chilli Peppers?

10) Cow and Chicken

The slapstick duo's escapades from 'The Red Guy' made for hearty chuckles, but not in India due to the cow being considered a sacred animal.

11) I Am Weasel

I.R. Baboon was one of the great cartoon idiots. You might remember I Am Weasel actually began as a segment on the Cow and Chicken Show.
