As if there weren't enough reasons to drink tea already, scientists have discovered that it's can defend against osteoporosis and reduce the risk of broken bones.
A study published in Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, says 'There is strong evidence from human studies that habitual tea consumption is positively associated with higher BMD [bone mineral density] at multiple skeletal sites.'
I can confirm that this is indeed true. I drink and I've never broken a bone. There is no way that these two facts are related to each other. Even a child could see the correlation.
One caveat is there is no extra benefit, in this regard, to drinking four or more cups of tea a day as compared to those who only drink one but sure that's no reason not to drink four cups.
Also, men aren't helped as much as women but, as the fella says, some help is better than no help.
Now, who's for tea?
