Here's How Claw Games Are Rigged

Ever wonder why you never won anything on those claw machines when you were younger? Maybe you just thought your technique was crap and felt you deserved that feeling of dejection and disappointment when you walked away empty handed EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

Well, here's a revelation for you. You can stop blaming yourself, it wasn't your fault! History writer, Phil Edwards took the time to investigate some of the claw games' instruction manuals and made a disturbing discovery; the claw games were rigged all along. The machine does some quick mathematical calculations to see if it has been financially successful and will only make a successful grab when it has already made a profit. I know, I'm speechless too.

Those crafty claw games played us and teased oh so many of us by letting us think we won when we managed to successfully manoeuvre the claw down, grab the toy, raise it with said toy in it's grasp and just as the grin breaks onto our faces with the feeling of accomplishment, plop, the toy is back where it started and our delight is gone.

But wait, there's more, if you can handle it. The machine will make dreams come true with a full grab once in every 21 attempts but it's randomised, so don't bother skulking around the machine like a creep waiting to pounce when it hits the 21st try. All is explained in the below video and prepare to be left dumbfounded.

At least we can rest easy knowing it wasn't our lack of skill that led to all that misery.
