Harry Potter's Evanna Lynch Responds Perfectly To Homophobic Trolls

Harry Potter actress, Evanna Lynch who starred as the wide-eyed, wonderfully eccentric Luna Lovegood in the Harry Potter franchise has shut down homophobic trolls in the most eloquent way.

In light of the successful passing of the same-sex marriage referendum in Ireland on May 24, Evanna posted this image to her Instagram page in support of the news:

Following her post she received an inflow of negativity and hate on her Instagram feed and so she took to her Facebook page to set people straight.

In her post she politely states that if you don't like what she is saying, unfollow her rather than spreading 'poision' all over her 'carefully curated wall of positivity and light'.

Simply, if you are someone who perceives homosexuality as 'disgusting' or 'fucked up' or 'unnatural', will you do me a kindness and please unfollow me on all social media platforms. And then block me.

The actress went on to say that 'beliefs' aren't an influence on people's actions.

Please don't for a second pin the intolerance and hatred you spread on 'religion' for no religion endorses the darkness you're spreading.

Drawing on her character's love of 'people and creatures in all forms' Evanna reminds her followers, most of whom presumably follow her because of Harry Potter, that Luna Lovegood's love is wholehearted.

The clue is in the name, people! Luna Lovegood's love is a GOOD kind of love. It is not conditional or possessive or needy or demanding. It doesn't fall apart the moment you expose a piece of yourself that is unconventional or even unbecoming.

Her whole post is brilliantly worded and doesn't at all force her opinion down your throat. Regardless of whther you are an LGBTQ rights supporter or not her statement is definitely worth the read so head to her Facebook wall and take a look.
